Bishopwearmouth Townscape Heritage Scheme

Sunderland City Council has received an award from the Heritage Lottery Fund of £1.9 million for restoration and enhancement works and heritage activities in part of the Bishopwearmouth Conservation Area in Sunderland city centre.

The funds will provide grant assistance for building owners to invest in the area’s historic buildings, improving their condition, the way they look and the way they are used. Funds will also be spent to improve Town Park, the green space south of Sunderland Minster, and also on activities to bring the area’s heritage to life and provide learning and training opportunities for local people. The scheme will operate from September 2018 until August 2023.

We are keen to hear your views on the area and the TH scheme, and hope you can spare a few minutes to fill in our questionnaire. Thank you for your support.
