BioProNET (www.biopronetuk.org) was one of the Networks in Industrial Biotechnology & Bioenergy (NIBB) funded by the UK government with the aim of developing and extending scientific collaboration between industrial and academic research in the area of bioprocessing. With the end of government funding in 2019, we (a group of academics and industrialists, see below) have developed BioProNET2 as an academic-industrial network that extends the initial aims of BioProNET across the emerging biologics manufacturing sector. A key objective of BioProNET2 (and BioProNET) is the establishment of a community-building annual scientific symposium with invited speakers from the UK and further afield.
