My name is Alison Hennessy, and I work with The Winning Scotland Foundation (www.winningscotlandfoundation.org). The foundation has the overarching vision that every child in Scotland will achieve their personal best, and we support key influencers to do this through a variety of techniques, including developing a 'growth mindset' across education, community and sports based settings.
Growth mindset stems from the belief that intelligence can grow, and that individuals can achieve their potential given the motivation, effort, strategies and support. We are aware that the idea of developing a growth mindset is being used in many schools and education establishments around the country, but it isn't clear exactly where it is happening and to what level. We have created this survey in an attempt to understand what is happening and where, and to find out what people think of mindset. This will help us to plan and focus our support, and recognise and address challenges.
