Case study session: How researchers use social media as part of their public engagement activities.

This session will involve case studies from 4 inspiring academic colleagues – Professor Leigh Sparks, Deputy Principal for Internationalisation and Graduate Studies; Professor Rachel Norman, Chair of Aquatic Food Security; Professor Paul Cairney, Professor of Politics and Public Policy; and Dr Peter Matthews, Lecturer in Social Policy.  

These speakers shall share their approaches to embracing the opportunities of Twitter and blogging to enhance their profile and engage with the public.  They will share the benefits they have found from their engagement on social media, and advice they would give other researchers on using it.  Each speaker will speak for 10 minutes, allowing for questions and discussion at the end of the session.
