November 22nd 2017
Nevis Room, Stirling Court Hotel.

This session will be led by Professor Rachel Norman (expertise as GCRF peer reviewer) and Professor Bruce Graham (expertise as BBSRC peer reviewer).

The peer review session will be delivered by colleagues with expertise as peer reviewers from particular funders.  They will talk about their experiences of sitting on peer review panels, how the panels operate, and the various processes and criteria which the panels employ.  In addition they can tell you what panels actually do on review days, and how much time is spent on each application.  External reviewers are also part of the peer review process, and the weight that external reviewers’ opinions have will be discussed.   There will be time in the session for group discussion.
