The Role

You will own product development for SurveyMonkey’s Notification channels -- collaborate with engineering, marketing, other product teams, and data science to deliver scalable solutions which drive customer engagement through personalized notifications across multiple product lines.  

Lead Product efforts to prevent platform abuse at SurveyMonkey -- work closely with security, legal, customer operations, and other product teams to handle and prevent abuse.

This is a high impact, high leverage role with full purview of SurveyMonkey’s multiple product lines for a product manager looking to deliver significant customer and business impact. Today, Notifications reach more than 20 million customers per week, and has a double digit year-over-year growth rate.

Responsibilities

  • You lead a high performing cross-functional team of UX, engineering, QA, data, marketing, and security stakeholders.
  • You define, prioritize, and execute the Notifications Platform and Abuse roadmap, leading the entire product lifecycle, from strategic planning to implementation.
  • You are the Product owner and expert for all of SurveyMonkey’s transactional emails and notifications (“Notifications”), and the platform powering Notifications.  
  • You are responsible for the holistic user experience of Notifications, from delivery/timing/content/preferences to metrics and resulting user behavior.  
  • You work with various product owners and marketing partners to ensure a consistent customer experience and leverage this large channel for incremental business impact.  You also work with various engineering stakeholders to build for the future and ensure platform adoption.
  • You are the Product owner and expert for continuously protecting SurveyMonkey and its customers from malicious use of all forms including spam and phishing.  
  • You develop the business case for various abuse prevention measures.
  • You ensure your Engineering team is building (or buying) solutions that will scale and adapt to SurveyMonkey’s growing product, engineering, and business needs.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management or related experience
  • Have excellent business acumen and deep user empathy
  • A fast learner, technically inclined enough to understand high level engineering decisions and implications for your products
  • A big picture, forward thinker who can also go deep into the details
  • A strong communicator who can motivate a team and speak articulately about your domain of expertise
