The Role

We’re looking for a User Researcher who is curious about customers and passionate about answering tough questions. Your research will span from formative to evaluative relying on various qualitative methods and a subset of quantitative methods. You’ll be partnering with multiple teams to identify and collaborate on research topics including product, design, survey research and voice-of-customer.

  • Participate as an influential member of the broader SurveyMonkey Product Design team to support designers and other researchers, guide the product vision, and build customer empathy.
  • Have experience designing studies that impacts product design or the product roadmap.
  • Enjoy being hands on with your research and able to find creative solutions to research problems.
  • Contribute to building up the user research function and our ongoing research programs.
  • Build relationships through strong communication, organization, and thoughtful rationale.
  • Evangelize user research and research findings throughout the company.
  • Be an accountable, self-starter with good time-management and a bias for action - able to work through ambiguity and deadline pressures.


  • 1-3 years of experience conducting user research that has impacted product design.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Design, and Marketing.
  • Strong understanding of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Able to analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data with an emphasis on qualitative.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and evangelize UX research insights across the SurveyMonkey product.
  • Ability to present cohesive and compelling research findings at all levels of the organization
  • Degree in in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior.
