SurveyMonkey’s weekly polling (ending Thursday July 20) finds 42 percent of adults nationwide approve of the way Donald Trump is handling his job as president and 57 percent disapprove. Compared to the previous week, that result represents no change in the approval percentage and a one-point uptick in disapproval (from 56 percent) since last week.

“Health care” edges up two percentage points over the past week (from 27 to 29 percent) as the selected issue that matters most to Americans, putting it five percentage points ahead of “jobs and the economy” at 24 percent (down a point higher than the previous week).

Methodology: This SurveyMonkey Tracking poll was conducted online July 14 through July 20, 2017 among a national sample of 8,382 adults ages 18 and up. Respondents for this survey were selected from the nearly 3 million people who take surveys on the SurveyMonkey platform each day. Data for this week have been weighted for age, race, sex, education, and geography using the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey to reflect the demographic composition of the United States. The modeled error estimate for this survey is plus or minus 2.0 percentage points.
