New York Times|SurveyMonkey poll: May 2019

In a new New York Times|SurveyMonkey poll, a full six in 10 adults in the U.S. (60%) say they’re benefiting from the economy “about as much as most others.” Just under one quarter (24%) say they’re benefiting less than others, and 13% say they’re benefiting more.

A majority (58%) of workers say they’ve gotten a raise or taken a better-paying job in the past 12 months, but it’s those at the higher end of the income scale who are more likely to have benefited. Fewer than half (47%) of workers in households with incomes under $30,000 say they’ve gotten a raise in the past year, but that number rises to 68% among those with household incomes of $100,000 to $150,000.
