More people in the U.S. are worried about the economic consequences of the coronavirus outbreak than are concerned about exposure for themselves or their family, according to a new Fortune|SurveyMonkey poll.

  • 50% of people in the U.S. are worried they or someone in their family will be exposed to coronavirus
  • 61% are worried there will be an outbreak in the U.S. 
  • 75% are worried about the negative economic effect

About two-thirds of people (65%) say they expect a recession to occur in the next year.
