In July 2022, the UEFA Executive Committee announced that it has approved the project to observe the use of standing facilities for the Club Competition season 2022/23 in 3 countries (France, Germany, and England).

The decision means clubs from those three countries are permitted to use standing facilities for the UEFA club competition match home fixtures based on the existing domestic regulations.
