Introduction

Over the past year, Your Voice has engaged with and listened to the voice of people in our communities. You have shared concerns, and more importantly the solutions - what you feel is important to have in place, so that we can recover from the impact of COVID 19, and overcome the challenges that many of our people experienced before it.

It's Important to work together for a better Inverclyde for everybody – no matter what age – and important that there is something for everyone’

This survey will gather evidence to show decision makers the possible solutions, it will be used as evidence to change the things that you have raised this past year.

Build up community will for action on poverty and influence policies that are built around our values of compassion, kindness and justice

More employment opportunities, paying the living wage - creation of good jobs, employment support and training opportunities

Strengthen the benefits system - a minimum, we need the temporary £20 per week increase to Universal Credit and Working and Working Tax Credit to be made permanent

Explore /put in place Universal Basic Income (pilot) - whereby people have enough money to live on, take part in community life and access opportunities to learn new skills and retain

Homelessness' should be a priority - more prevention work, provide and assist people to secure a long-term tenancy and maintain it, especially with the rising number of people unemployed and family breakdowns

Create and resource opportunities for children and families to gain practical life skills e.g., share skills, cook healthy meals on a budget, money management, maintain a home, help with debt etc

More projects to support low-income families/individuals to get the best deals from gas / electricity providers

More community pantry's and mobile pantry's created in Inverclyde (A pantry is not a food bank it is food provision where a small financial contribution is made by the customer)
