Attitudes to Homeshare in Scotland

Homeshare UK is conducting research to better understand peoples attitudes to Homeshare in Scotland.

Homeshare is an intergenerational Housing option in which older people – (Householders)  provide an affordable home to others (Homesharers).  They do this in exchange for support with everyday tasks such as shopping, cooking and cleaning along with companionship.

The benefit for the potential Homesharer is that they can save on accommodation costs by paying a nominal or lower than market rent.

The older person maintains their independence with some support and benefits from the company of another person. There are similar schemes in England and further afield but nothing like this is currently in place in Scotland.

Anyone can use Homeshare, we have older people, undergraduates, postgraduates, professionals and key public sector workers, all benefitting from affordable accommodation and companionship.

This survey will contribute to the research project: it is anonymous and should take only a few minutes of your time. Thank you for helping us.
