DVSC provides a range of high quality, competitively priced training courses throughout the year and aims to meet the training needs of DVSC members, our partners and the public, by providing community based learning opportunities
We provide FREE learning and development opportunities if we have secured funding through grants or subsidy for this from partners.
DVSC has been successful in receiving Welsh Government funding for our Dementia Training – for the Sector by the Sector. This funding is enabling DVSC to provide a 12 week programme of FREE training to support and embed greater awareness, skills, and capabilities among individuals, and organisations throughout Denbighshire.
As part of this, we are committed to incubating and accelerating the development of skills in this important area, so that the third sector and citizens are empowered to play their role in supporting the Welsh Government’s Dementia Action Plan with community led activity and solutions.
Between January and March 2019 DVSC will be running a rapid skills immersion programme to develop greater awareness about Dementia, its cause, prevention and mitigating upskilling citizens in Denbighshire, volunteers, voluntary and community groups, the third sector and social enterprises to develop their awareness, skills, capabilities and compassion in this area, so that working together we can become more Dementia Friendly.
Our 90 Day Dementia Challenge Training programme will start in January and will run through to the end of March 2019. All these training courses are FREE to those who apply. Priority will be given to citizens, volunteers, voluntary and community groups, third sector organisations, social enterprises operating in Denbighshire and DVSC Members.
