Relocating the RNHRD's Rheumatology Service - have your say

This survey relates to the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Disease’s (RNHRD) Rheumatology Therapies Service - you do not need to have been a patient of this service to take part in this questionnaire. The survey will take around five to ten minutes to complete.

The RNHRD's RheumatologyTherapies service provides a wide range of assessment, treatment and interventions for those with musculoskeletal and rheumatology conditions.

We are planning to relocate the Rheumatology Therapies Service in 2018 and we’d like to hear your views. All outpatient services, along with the clinical and support team, will move from the current location at the Mineral Water Hospital site in Bath, to a purpose built RNHRD and Therapies Centre at the RUH’s Combe Park site. The new Centre, designed with input from patients and staff, will have improved facilities including a larger hydrotherapy pool with better changing facilities, a well-equipped gym, group rooms and better waiting room facilities. This is part of a phased relocation of all services from the Min, you can find out more here

Designed to support patients to learn about and manage their condition so they can continue a full and active lifestyle, the RNHRD and Therapies Centre will house outpatient rheumatology and therapies services under one roof, supporting staff to work together to deliver a patient centred approach to care.

There are no concerns about the standard of care provided and no plans to stop providing these services. Patients will continue to be seen and treated by the same team; only the location of the service will change. Residential accommodation will still be provided as part of the Ankylosing Spondylitis rehabilitation course, the exact location has yet to be determined.

This relocation only affects the Rheumatology services provided from the Mineral Hospital site - satellite and community rheumatology clinics across the South West and beyond will continue in their current location.

The Rheumatology Service, and Clinical Measurement services provided at the Mineral Water site will relocate at the same time as the Rheumatology Therapies Service, as these services are closely linked. Clinical Measurement will move to the RUH’s Nuclear Medicine department, before relocating to the new Dyson Cancer Centre at the RUH which is due to open in 2020.

You can provide feedback on the planned Rheumatology Service relocation here.

We welcome your views about how you would like to see the Rheumatology Therapies Service provided now and in the future. Your feedback will help us in our planning to ensure we continue to provide the best service for our patients.

We would be very grateful if you would share your views with us by completing this short survey.  Please be assured the information provided by you in this questionnaire will not be used in a way which would allow identification of you as an individual.
