Ophthalmic Training & Qualification for non-medical ophthalmic workforce
This questionnaire aims to get a better understanding of how many non-medical ophthalmic professionals are interested in further ophthalmic training and qualification within the Common Clinical Competency Framework (OCCCF).
The OCCCF will provide recognised and standardised training for the non-medical ophthalmic Health Care Professionals (HCP's) with the aim to enable these professions to take on further tasks currently solely performed by medically trained Ophthalmologists . The training will focus on four key areas: Emergency Care, Cataract, Glaucoma and Medical Retina. For each clinical area three levels of competencies can be achieved, although the initial focus is on level 1 and level 2 training.
The overall aim of the OCCCF is to generate an upskilled ophthalmic workforce with a recognised and transferable skill set.
