The project, VETcert, involves ten partners from seven European countries and aims to develop a Europe wide accreditation scheme for those working on veteran trees. The Arboricultural Association and Ancient Tree Forum are representing the UK in a new European project focusing on veteran trees.

Feedback from professionals in the field is critical to provide valuable background information about veteran trees, challenges faced, feedback in relation to the knowledge and experience required to manage veteran trees in the different countries or regions

As part of the standard setting stage of the project, the AA and ATF are seeking the views of stakeholders within the UK regarding the minimum requirements for those working on veteran trees. This short questionnaire has been produced which includes questions on specific issues relating to veteran trees in the UK as well as questions on the minimum knowledge and skills required for those working at both a practicing level (tree surgeons) and at a consulting level.
