The WCC have been given a unit in the new mixed-retail space owned by Harworth called Olive Lane. A designated space for the community centre of approximately 162m2 will need to include the offices of the Community Council as well as a space for residents and groups to meet, hold events, and group gatherings. On planning application RB2021/0777, Unit 2 on the ground floor of Block E, is labelled ‘community centre’.
Early indications are that Olive Lane retail space will be open in late 2023 but this may change depending on the COVID global pandemic, which is impacting on both workforce and supplies. The WCC wishes to know how the people of Waverley will make use of this space.
