Welcome to the project!

Getting on your way to helping us protect solitary bee populations is as simple as filling in this sign up survey. Your address details will help us send you the relevant information about how to build our bee hotel designs and how to identify the species using them.

You are becoming part of an exciting nationwide citizen science project, and we will contact you very soon. Information packs will be sent detailing how to construct our bee hotels and record useful data.

Question Title

* 1. Please fill in the form below with all your relevant personal and contact information. This information is for admin purposes and will not be shared with any external parties.

Question Title

Question Title

* 3. Bee hotel designs:
Right lets find out what works and what doesn't.

As a participant you are required to create and test a Milk Carton and a Wood Block design. However, it would be terrific if you also attempted to expand your scientific design by creating more bee hotels.
Here are the designs we need you to create:

1. Milk Carton:
With the top of the milk carton cut off, the nesting tubes can be placed inside to create a cosy dwelling for our winged friends. A wire mesh will cover the nest entrance to protect their young from pesky birds, but will they like our design?

2. Wood Block:
Drilled holes in dry wood make a great nesting place for bees seeking refuge from the elements. These are well documented as effective bee hotels.

If you have created bee hotels before which materials did you use?
